The collaboration with Judy McCaig dates back to 2009 with the arrival of “Lo Peligroso” at ArteArtesania

“… To create is to go beyond, to look at the edge of the unknown, to risk the danger of being lost, and also the danger of being. There is no creative act without risk, without danger. I want to invite you for this ride of dangerous sensations, contemplating personal and at the same time universal dangers… ”

This is how Silvia Walz presented that Exhibition, one of the first of the “Joyas Sensacionales” Project with which Judy came to Soller as an active participant, and since then, we maintain a close collaboration, bringing up two individual exhibitions with her work and giving a Rivet Workshop

Judy McCaig

A Scottish jeweller, printmaker and painter who since 1991 lives and works in Barcelona, Spain. Born in Edinburgh, studied art and jewellery at Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art, Dundee, Scotland from 1975-79. 1980- post-graduate one year specialising in jewellery and photography. Awarded The Scottish Education Department Major Travel Scholarship. From 1980-83 she studied Master of Arts (M.A.)at The Royal College of Art in London. Travelled extensively in Europe after finishing college and on her return to London, studied printmaking for three years and set up studio there. In 1989 visited Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. Since 2000 until present she has taught at the Massana School of Art in Barcelona and since 2009 at Taller Perill, Barcelona, also acting as visiting lecturer in Schools in USA, Germany, Portugal and Scotland, Spain and Andorra. Her work has been shown extensively at galleries and museums around the world, among which is ArteArtesania in Soller.
